In 2024, two pharmacists put accredited CE on a Royal Caribbean ship and sold it out. No conference committee. No sad hotel ballroom with folding chairs and a lukewarm breakfast buffet. Royal Caribbean runs multiple ships year-round out of LA. Four nights from Los Angeles is drivable for a big chunk of the pharmacy community in California and the Southwest, and a short flight for most of the rest. It would be the first Pharm@Sea on the West Coast, which means you’d have bragging rights.

Fully accredited. Included in the program fee. The 2024 curriculum was built to be worth sitting through, not just worth clocking. Course specifics for 2028 get announced as the program comes together. Your employer doesn’t need to know how much fun it was.

Bring Your Entire Crew

Bring whoever you’d take on a regular cruise. Non-pharmacy guests pay no program fee, have no CE requirement, and spend the trip however they want. You do your sessions, earn your credit, and the rest of it is just a Royal Caribbean cruise. That’s kind of the whole point.

What You’re Probably Wondering

Pharm@Sea 2028 is looking for healthcare content creators and continuing education presenters. Reach out directly to The Accidental Pharmacist on Instagram or RXComedy on Instagram. The 2028 program is being built now.

Pharm@Sea is open to pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and pharmacy students. Spouses, partners, kids, parents, friends: all welcome on the cruise. Non-pharmacy guests don’t pay the program fee and have no CE requirement. They just need a cabin.

Yes. Accredited continuing education was included in 2024 and will be included in 2028. Course topics and credit hours will be confirmed once the curriculum is built. Interest list registrants get updates when that happens.

Pharm@Sea 2024 started at $1,085 per person. That was all-in: cruise fare, program fee, taxes, gratuities, and standard onboard dining and entertainment. No surprise fees at checkout. 2028 pricing isn’t set yet because the ship and itinerary aren’t confirmed, but the structure will be the same.

Different ship, different port, different itinerary. New speakers. New people joining the community who weren’t there the first time. If the 2024 format worked for you, the 2028 format will be the same thing done again with what was learned the first time around.

Both. The CE is fully accredited. The ship is a real Royal Caribbean ship. The pharmacists are real pharmacists. We’re not apologizing for the fact that it’s also a cruise.

You don’t have to be funny. The hosts handle that part. You just have to show up, do the CE, and not be weird about the fact that you’re doing your continuing education on a cruise ship. Which is not weird. It’s just better.
